Pinnacle are now using their latest version of CAST (Client Administration System Template) a powerful browser based Content Management System.

Content Management, the ability for clients to manage and upload their own website content, has been included in our developments for some time.

CAST forsakes the need for expensive management tools and enables both skilled and unskilled administrators, regardless of location, to edit page content, assign access controls and add features throughout the website. This minimises on-going operational costs and enables more people within the organisation to become actively involved in their website. For visitors the site is continually changing and remaining up to date. For our clients, it enables them to offer information and campaigns and respond to changing circumstances rapidly.

With CAST the design concept and the site's functionality are tailored to the exact requirements of the client and are completely customised. There are few restrictions on what the site can do within the scope of existing technologies.

The content generally resides in a central database (usually hosted by us) and is uploaded, deleted or amended by the client with a sophisticated 'back office' facility that is remarkably easy to use.

The system comprises bespoke modules designed to meet the very specific needs of clients and generic modules including:

• Page Administrator
• Using a web browser and a simple and structured graphical interface, managing content throughout the website is as simple as a couple of 'clicks'. Navigation within CAST is intuitive, as the multi-tiered layers of navigation are 'mirrored' in the back office so that it is easy to navigate around content in the most complex of sites. Emulating a simple text editor, it is possible, not only to "cut and paste" text, but to apply formatting such as bold, italics, underlining, HTTP linking as well as upload and insert images.

• Security Administrator
• A security administration facility manages the security matrix, allowing user accounts to be created with different access rights. These restrict administrator access to certain sections of the site and allow different persons within the organisation to administer select information only. CAST also includes a site logging system to monitor changes as well as an interface to site statistics to monitor visitor access and online marketing effectiveness.
